Competition Events
Contestant Community Concerts
During each competition, our talented contestants present recitals around the Cleveland community, reaching individuals at senior centers, retirement communities, hospitals, libraries, and other venues around the city.
These recitals are a much-loved tradition in the community, offering music lovers an opportunity to engage with a contestant and follow his or her progress throughout the competition. At the same time, contestants enjoy an appreciative audience and the chance to fine-tune their program before the competition begins.
For the first time, our 2021 contestants will also be connecting with specific immigrant communities in Cleveland based on their own national heritage through these concerts.
PianoKids at CIPC
In conjunction with the Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland and the East End Neighborhood House, students K-12 enjoy a musical day camp during the Cleveland International Piano Competition. Students spend the day participating in a variety of hands on learning activities led by local teachers artists such as Dalcroze eurhythmics, a drum circle, and an interactive seminar. Students also get the chance to watch competition performances, meet contestants, and enjoy lunch and ice cream.
Community Masterclasses
Local piano students are invited to participate in masterclasses with some of the world-renowned jurors that come to Cleveland to participate in the Cleveland International Piano Competition and CIPC for Young Artists.
